K&W Transmissies’ plastic modular belts are available in a large number of materials such as Polypropylene, Polyethylene or Acetal/Polyacetal.

Polypropylene (PP)

• Suitable for many applications
• Good price-performance ratio
• Suitable for low and high temperatures (5 °C to 105 °C)
• High chemical resistance to acids and alkaline
• Temperatures lower than 5 °C the material become brittle and easily broken
•  The most commonly used type of material
   

Polyethylene (PE)

• Well suited for very low temperatures of -70 °C
• Reliable solution for applications with a lot of impact
• Suitable for temperatures up to 65 °C
• Excellent chemical resistance to acids and alkaline
• Not suitable for abrasive conditions

 
Acetal/Polyacetal (POM)

• Suitable for heavy loads (very wear-resistant)
• Suitable for use with low temperatures of -40 °C
• Reliable solution when used up to 93 °C and up to 60 °C in wet conditions
• Low friction coefficient
• Good chemical resistance to oil and alkaline
• Not suitable for prolonged contact with a high concentration of acids or chlorine
