The Netherlands has a number of sugar-producing companies. Sugar is manufactured from sugar beets. The sugar beets are brought to the factory in trucks. Here the sugar beets are conveyed from the feed point to the factory. This is done with a conveyor system, using very heavy conveyor chains. These chains are sometimes refurbished instead of replaced. The pins and bushings of the chain are worn down by the filthy environment.
