Mostly it is cardan chains with their plastic rollers and zinc-plated parts that have to endure the often heavy loads. The chains run in overhead systems on which the animals are hang.
Because of the legal hygiene requirements, the chains are very frequently hosed off with chemical cleaning solutions. As a result, there are high demands placed on the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the chains. Knowledge and experience in this area is required to provide the appropriate chains.
