Internal lubrication

Designing the bolts of the chain with an internal lubrication channel is a common and successful method used to lubricate the chain, where it is needed most.

A grease nipple is often mounted at the head of the pin of the chain. Through this grease nipple, the hinges of the chain can be provided with lubrication either by hand or with an automatic lubrication system. To properly distribute the grease between the pin and the bushing, one can design the pin with a spiral lubrication channel or with a flat milled reservoir.
