On small orders with a net order value below €500.00, an amount of €10.00 will be charged as an order handling fee.
Shipping costs for delivery addresses in the Netherlands will be charged if the net order value is below €500.00. This is a fixed amount of €15.00 regardless of the quantity or number of items per order.
The method of transport, shipment, packaging and the like, if no particular instructions are given by the customer to K&W Transmissions, is with fixed carrier. The rule is that goods that leave the warehouse today are delivered to the customer the next day. Shipments can be tracked through a track and trace system, because every shipment is provided by K&W Transmissies with a unique barcode. Thus it is always clear where a shipment is and where the shipment must go.

For shipments that must be sent to their destination in the fastest manner possible, K&W Transmissies will look for a custom solution. In many cases, a courier service or express shipment via the fixed carrier can be arranged.
Before the chain is installed, one should check that the execution of the installation complies with the general installation instructions. After this inspection, the chain can be deployed.

  • Make sure that when deploying the chain, there is no twist in the chain.
  • Support the chain and components, to prevent these from falling.
  • When installing the chain, forces in the transverse direction must be collected by a bottom plate or the sprockets.
  • Place any connecting link on the slack end and note the placement direction of the quick adhesion springs.
  • Do not install new links on a worn chain.
  • Do not install new chain on worn sprockets.
  • Replace a damaged link as a whole and not just the damaged bottom part.
The chain should be installed according to the usual safety precautions:

  • Wear safety glasses, safety gloves and safety shoes.
  • Disconnect the power supply of the machine, to avoid switching it on accidentally.
  • Use the right tools.
Check the following before switching on the installation:

  • Any installation of the connecting link, the clips, the tightening of the nuts and the absence of hard points.
  • The presence of foreign objects such as screws, tools, etc., on the chain.

When switching on the installation:
  • Ensure a cautious, gradual start.
  • Start the process with a low load.
  • Conduct an extra inspection after the installation has been working for several hours or days.
  • Ensure the effective forces correspond to the calculations that were taken into consideration when purchasing the chain.
With regard to the lubrication:

  • Check the condition and status of any existing nozzles.
  • Based on the color and the extent of the soiling of the lubricant, determine whether there is sufficient lubrication or the lubricant needs to be replaced.
  • In case of replacement, the installation must be emptied of the lubricant and then filled with a lubricant of the same or better quality.
  • First degrease the chain and clean it to remove the dirty lubricant so that it does not prevent the new lubricant from getting between the rubbing surfaces.
If the distance of the deflection of the slack end of the installation is not adjustable, the length of the chain at the start or after normal wear must be shortened in the manner described below.

Balance chains and conveyor chains do not have an offset link and can only be shortened by two links.
